[ENG] CWMUN 2018 – Official Press Release

On March 9, 2018, at 11.30 am,  the presentation of Change the World United Nation – New York 2018, organized by Associazione Diplomatici, will take place at the Foreign Press Office in Rome.

Associazione Diplomatici – founded in Catania by Claudio Corbino – is an NGO with special advisory status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council. It is a training institution specialized in international programs for Italian and foreign university and high school students. The goal of the association is to offer training which is complementary to university and high school programs in order to allow students to acquire needed skills in the world of work and to orient themselves in their choice of university or professions, with a particular focus on international careers.

Engaged for over fifteen years in the training of young people on international issues, Associazione Diplomatici offers highly specialized training courses and organizes events based on a national and international level. The purpose of the Association’s activities is to allow young people to commit themselves in defending democratic values through the study and simulation of the work of great international organizations, in order to fully understand the meaning of coexistence among world citizens different cultures, faith or ethnicity.

The initiatives of the Association enjoy of the moral support of the MAECI.

Associazione Diplomatici wants to inspire tomorrow’s leaders with the values of respect for mutual tolerance and social commitment in favour of a sustainable development of the planet through training courses focused on the “learning by doing” method, linked to orientation and international careers.

The Association annually runs over twenty events around the world including the Change the World Model UN (CWMUN) with editions in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Barcelona, Brussels, Rome and, at the New York UN Headquarters.

The CWMUN NYC, reaching its seventh edition, is a laboratory that reproduces the functioning of the organs of the United Nations.

This year, over 3,000 students coming from 110 countries around the world will confront each other debating issues of the international political agenda, with the participation of exceptional guests.

The guest of honor is Bill Clinton, President of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States.

Besides Mr. Clinton, other personalities participating are:

Carlo Ancelotti, great football coach who won titles in Italy, France, Spain, Germany and England, Oscar Farinetti, founder of Eataly, Lorenzo Licitra, winner of the latest edition of X-Factor, Francesco Messori, founder of the Italian National Amputees, Giuseppe Ayala, former magistrate of the anti-mafia pool of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, Marco Tardelli, 1982 world champion and Goodwill Ambassador of Diplomatici, Salvatore Carrubba, former director of Sole 24 Ore and President of the International Board of CWMUN, Enrico Giovannini, president of ASVIS and former Minister of Labor and Social Policies, Lucio Caracciolo, director of Limes magazine, Giuseppe Scognamiglio, director of Eastwest magazine, TV journalists Maria Latella and Myrta Merlino.
