The Change the World Model UN experience changed my life and my way of seeing the world. More than 1800 students from all over the word attending every year this forum held at the UN Headquarter in New York. How did this experience change my life and what did I learn?
Before I’ve joined the Conference, I had no idea of how big the world is. How many cultures, traditions, stories, how many different ways to see things! This experience thought me that, despite all the differences existing among people, solutions to problems can always be found. We all should bear in mind this very simple concept, in this way facing the serious problems affecting us could be easier – starting from the biggest atrocity created by human beings: the war.
One of the main aims of CWMUN is to support students and improve their skills, make them becoming future leaders, and in a certain way create a better world, following important values such as tolerance and respect. Thanks to Associazione Diplomatici and this project, I have learnt how important the respect for different people, languages, cultures and religions is. I have also developed my leadership skills, understanding how to become a “positive” leader.
I highly recommend to participate to CWMUN and test yourself, we all should be committed in the creation of a better world or we should at least try, as our motto says, to change it.
